Mini Van Blues- I am now a soccer mom...

13 June 2007 Wednesday
OK- so Ute labels me as the official soccer mom. And Greg asks why was I clinging to my steering wheel of my Saab 9-3 convertible, looking forlorn when there was a white Toyota Sienna LE minivan on the driveway?

The Saab saw me through my pregnancy and transported Kai from birth to 15-months! And now I have a mini-van? And now I am a soccer mom? And I made the choice to sell the convertible and therefore, I can no longer have wind flow through my long hair and feel like a hotty with my top down. (Oops! I meant with the convertible top down!)
................WAAAH!
I called my long-time friend Rod (who owns R & R Unlimited in Walnut Creek) exactly one week ago, and today, he personally drove this vehicle to our house after winning the bid at an auction. Great car- sits 8 people, white exterior, taupe interior, clean, 2006 model with 33,000 miles. It has 13 cup holders and 9 storage spaces in it, from what I counted so far, and 2 sliding doors, one which opens and closes by remote. It also gets approx. 20-miles to a gallon and has more horsepower than any of our vehicles. wow!
I have done 6 vehicle transactions in the last 8 years or so (buying and selling) with Rod and likely one more if my Saab doesn't sell soon on Craigslist. He is a man to be trusted and usually gets what you want! I met Rod when he walked into my physiotherapy clinic crying about his knee pain and I asked if he wanted a stick to bite on to muffle his wimpers. He looked at me in surprise (you know- those high maintanence Walnut Creek Yuppies) and we became good friends since!
The middle row seats fold forward to allow access to the back row or trunk/storage area. The rear seats fold into the floor.
While Greg and I test- drive the vehicle...
...Rod entices Kai to sign the ownership papers.
