Home of Great White: Bodega and Tomales Bay
Yup. Somewhere out there, dark eyes are looking at us, catching our scent, wanting... and waiting for their moment to devour a little piece of Canadian, Filipina, Portuguese, Columbian, Swedish, and German meat dishes.
Bodega Bay is one of the top ten homes for Great White sharks in Northern California. In the seal-rich area known as the “Red Triangle” stretching from Bodega Bay to Ano Nuevo Island near Santa Cruz and out to the Farallon Islands (beyond San Francisco’s Golden Gate). The triangle includes Tomales Bay, Stinson Beach and Bolinas. Here, great whites lurk in vast numbers (and wouldn't you too if there was an abundant supply of rich seal meat, which to sink your pearly whites?)
But don't dress up like a seal, or fall prey like that taken by the Golden Gate Bridge.
.
So this fine morning, the sun was out, and the winds were less strong. We strolled along the beach front and soaked up the sun and took in the beautiful view. By noon, we packed up, said our farewells, hugged, kissed, cried, and headed for home going our seperate ways. Thank goodness-heehee.
Kai and Lukas find a cave to hide out in.
Toby sniffs out lunch (hundreds of mussels).
Hey, I caught a little boy for lunch. Me too!
Lukas got tired of his rough ride on momma's back, and decided to walk instead.
Seesaw action.

BUT we did not want the weekend to end so quickly and instead took a detour to Tomales Bay. I know, it's so like us to not do things as expected. We made an oyster stop just to see what was happening, as you could buy fresh oysters and grill it there on the spot. We opted out of doing that (too many people there) and spent lunch at the state park eating dinner leftovers, drinking German beer, and splashing away with the jellyfish...ouch, ooch, owwwie!
