Falls Here! Kai gives me a helping hand...

Saturday - November 3, 2007
Wow! November is here and soon it will be Xmas, right? We spent our day cleaning house and raking the tons of leaves in the front yard. While I raked, Kai would help gather the leaves into his bucket so I could dump them into the bin. Greg clambered on the roof to clean out the gutters of debris.

Kai packs down leaves for me. And wears my gloves...

Finally, a break! I was able to finish my book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell in my front yard (my Zen garden) while Kai took sips of my soda. This book discusses what happens in the first couple seconds when you form an opinion of someone or something upon your first encounter. It discusses that it's not intuition that we are guided by but by our past experiences, knowledge, and education that results in our split-second thoughts. They call it "thin-slicing".
Read it when you have the time.
And then something fell into my shirt, and I had a split-second thought it was a leaf, only to find it was a wasp that made its way out after having bit me on the boob! I'm still itching from that!

Later that evening, Greg had to do some work at his office. Kai and I shopped at Target and bought dinner. So on a Saturday night, we had a Korean meal in the kitchen of his office (boohoo, no more nice dinners at 5 star restaurants!). And Kai made a great mess of the place- food here, food there, food everywhere!
