Commuters and truckers honk and wave at us from Hwy 80.

April 4, 2008 Berkeley

At lunch time, I couldn't help but stop at the Sea Breeze Restaurant for a half crab. (Darn you Cheri! I am now craving this stuff!) And to work off that meal, Kai half rode- half walked his Radio Flyer scooter, while I assisted him only as needed. He has gotten really good at propelling himself, as he is being able to tackle going down small elevations.

On the pedestrian bridge over Highway 80, we both waved and gave the "trucker's sign". To our surprise, not only did we get a lot of honking and truck horns going off, but people were waving from within their cars and also outside the window! I began to wonder if something was wrong, and started to look around... nope, nothing wrong...so I can safely assume since it is a Friday afternoon, and people on the road heading to San Francisco were on the way in for fun?

Kai was a little wide-eyed and quiet as he stared at all those cars passing underneath. But he was learning to wave at the passerbys.

So back to the car, and back to work. Now all Kai talks about is "waving" and "trucks" and "honking".
Kai falls asleep between us while watching tv. That was our fun outing for the day!
