Kayak Port of Oakland

For lunch, we headed out in our kayak to find a margarita in the Port of Oakland. We used to paddle across the waterway to Chevy's for an interesting excursion. In this case, we were told they had closed down awhile back. (boo hoo!) So we searched elsewhere past Jack London Square.

Kai has gotten brave, he now stands holding unto the kayak ropes and at times does this while we go over a wave. I have a feeling he is gonna be "extreme" with some sport or another, just like us.

In the background is the Port of Oakland, where all the ship containers of imports are transported before being loaded unto trucks and dispersed throughout the USA. The Port of Oakland is the major port of entry for these import ships.

A closer view...

...and practically right up to the ship's hull!

A ship passes us and passengers wave at us from the deck.

We did find this restaurant for some grub!

Kai and daddy Greg have a pleasant lunch together. The smiles look similar, yes?

And here is Kai, he is the chaperon for the newly weds who have taken off somewhere!

Still no margarita in hand when we finished kayaking, but the Bienert's make us not only another awesome dinner but Mojitos and a margarita for a night cap!
