Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween and Kai is ready to go to Lukas' Halloween party. I still hadn't gotten around to treating my patients there but oh well!

One of my clients gave me this mummy head...
...with some surprises tucked away inside!

Yummy!
Kai gets a photo with a couple of the daycare girls.
So over at Lukas' house, we are served some really bad muffins...
...and with every cupcake comes a haunting...
... and then there's the black widows we had to worry about (I'm talking about the thing with the green face there).

And if not's the black widow, its the terrible twins Thing 1 and Thing 2 that tore up the place! But overall it was a good party...
Kai and I left to pickup the real daddy here- Batman!

And we headed off to Sunvalley Mall and ran into Red Robin.
This place was so packed with hundreds of trick-o treaters, there were long lines just to get candy! So after a few stores, we headed to Home Base and started some home improvement projects, while Kai shoveled candy in his mouth in place of dinner.
And I got a little of my own dinner too (that's me licking my fingers- I had a bloody good meal!).
Then we served brains later on- (taken from an obnoxious tricker treater. heehee.) but to grampa who had been having some senior moments and needed some helpings of the frontal lobe.

Even this tricker treater was wanting a helping!
In the meantime, hopefully you come across these cute little ghosts. Happy Halloween!

Kai and I hit the garage sales this morning and came across this huge 6 foot puzzle which he immediately assembled.

Then we headed over to pick-up godmother Ale who invited us over for the SPCA Halloween event in Dublin where she volunteers to take care of dogs. That's Kai in his costume- THING 1.

This place was unlike most SPCA's being huge, new, and more like a gallery,

as evidenced by the art pieces on display.

Even the dogs were dressed for the occasion!
And even Greg was working on his little art project...tootsie roll spiders!
At every turn there would be a bowl of chocolates for Kai to choose and pick from to put into his goody bag.

Kai even made the popcorn witch hands, soon to be eaten within minutes.

And afterwards we just hung out at the front of the building( and thought about putting Kai up for adoption!- haha.) Really to enjoy the outdoors before dark.
Then we drove over to Emerald Park in Dublin and let the Thing loose.
Kai ran over this boy twice (heck, he kept jumping in the way) and then tempted Daddy into pushing him into the water (see his foot in that second picture?)- Hey, there's really a mermaid in there!
Kai kicks back and relaxes.
We returned to Ale's home to celebrate her birthday and feasted on fillet Mignon and a Swedish cake afterwards- YUM!
You still look great Ale- not bad for an old woman, you!

Red Bull Soap Box Race in San Fran

So get this- everytime Kai saw the Red Bull soapbox race on TV- he begged to go there! So being good parents, we took him out there for a trip on the BART to the city.

We got off at our stop and started to head off in the direction of the Red Bull event and came across some interesting things...like that hamburger that could fall off on someone's head during an earthquake?

And saw some punk rockers- that I thought were long gone (in the 80's)...

There were also some really interesting graffiti on several building in the vicinity...

And even some eye-catching billboards way overhead...
As we got closer, I could see the crowd getting more dense.

And finally got close enough to see Barney Rubbles soapbox- but no Barney!

And I made the mistake of letting Greg take off with Kai while I got distracted with taking pictures...and lost them in the wave of spectators!

You couldn't even see the race! except through projection on the big screens!
~
I was dissapointed with the event no doubt about that. At least when we attended the RebBull Flutag a few years ago- you could see the contestants and their creations from a tower off the marina. Oh well. Thank goodness for cell phones- as I tracked Kai and Greg and we jumped back on the Bart and spent the rest of outdoors in Orinda Community Park.
