Happy Mother's Day!

First thing in the morning and I get this sweet card from Kai- as there is so much truth in it.

Then I get this silly email gram from my sister Cheri...
Hey, at least she used a better looking photo of me this time!
Here I am calling my mom and Kai is trying to call Nana on my cell phone. Then Greg calls us to serve us a nice breakfast he cooked (bacon, eggs and bagel)
Kai with a handful of flowers to hand out to our neighbors who go out of their way to stop by and say hi. Boy! Did they adore him and the flowers!
Then we cycled along Pinole's waterfront to downtown. We passed by trains, trains passed us...
I found it odd to see this rusty bed in someones front yard. It was the beautiful yellow flowers that caught my eye.
And we checked out the new edition of Hercules/ Pinole that reminded me of Universal Studios house props and also of Greg's brothers neighborhood in Toronto.

...and we hung out at this playground in downtown Pinole. I ran across the street to get lunch at a trendy restaurant called the Peach Bistro (this restaurant should have been in San Fran instead) and we ate a delicious grilled burger and fries and a chicken salad outdoors in the playground.

Then we cycled back to the car, had a short ride home, and spent more time outdoors and kicking back. A wonderful mother's day for me!
Psst- I'm not used to other kids wishing me a Happy Mother's Day! Wha? Do I look like a mother?

Mud slinging and getting stuck in it.

April 12, Sunday
It was in the 80's this weekend and so we headed out to Pinole Shores just to get out of the house. We had a lazy weekend and pretty much stayed at home until now.
Kai brambled alongside the train tracks with his box of crackers.
And we set up camp with daddy hiding in the shade already.
It was low tide and Kai and I had to go out quite a ways to reach the water's edge. Kai immediately started a mud-slinging war. He's a good shot! I ended up with muddy clothing and spent half my time running from him. Of course I had to pelt him a few times also. You could be standing there and you would suddenly sink to your knees. I almost lost my flip-flop had I not dug in to retrieve it! The mud just sucks it right off.
Kai was in awe as the trains passed by...

I guess this is how Kai will look when he's older with the 5 o'clock shadow?
Video: Mud slinging boy! And I get stuck in mud!

Can you guess what he's trying to do? Hmmm?
Yippee! A little bit of sunshine and air freshening to the booty is good!
