Father's Day

The next morning we wake with a hang-over. Twelve samples of sake can do that!

So to help out, Kai rushes in with a cold beer and father's day card for Greg.

Is it true that beer helps to get rid of a hang-over?
Then mum-in-law cooks us an awesome breakfast. And I benefit too just as well on daddy's day.

After spending the last three days traveling and touring, Greg wanted to spend some quiet time at home. So we get artistic and do some street graffiti!

This is our gift to grampa an 802.11 tshirt. Since grampa is a techno-geek (as I am) I was certain he'd appreciate this wi-fi finder t-shirt. The more bars that illuminate, the better the internet connection! So much for those boring thumb-sized pocket finders!

Comments from Dad who received it in Toronto.

I tried it on this evening and it worked well. I had to turn off Andrews wireless router to see if the display would turn off, but there were so many signals in this neighbourhood, I had to hide in the basement cold storage room for all the blue bars to completely turn off!I'm going to lurk around the streets to see where the sources are-I'll do some 'war cruising' on my bike! I'm surprised how bright the shirt is-we turned off the basement lights and could see perfectly-I won't need a headlight for my bike!

Video: See the wi-fi t-shirt in action.

Father's Day: The men in my life are sick! (weaklings)

Kai's favorite things- his blanket (hand-made by Uncle Derek's girlfriend Jen, pillow (by Greg's former boss), and doggie (that cousins Adira and Cohen gave as a Xmas gift)

17 June 07, Father's Day
.
Kai crawled over me this morning and gave daddy a kiss while he was still asleep. That woke Greg from his slumber and put a smile on his face as Kai handed him a piece of paper with a pirate treasure map on it.
.
The plan was to take daddy to the Pirate Fest in Vallejo, however we did not attend as both the men in my life were quite sick and were plenty happy to stay at home. In fact, Kai had been running a fever since Friday night and Greg had not been well for the past week.
.
So we just hung around this weekend completing tasks on our Do It List, while Kai attempted to give us a hand...make daddy coffee by grinding the coffee beans, wipe the kitchen counters, pull weeds, throw apples through the fence to feed the deer, and then to make other mess typical of toddlers. He also surprised me at lunch time...

Despite my several checks throughout the day to reassure Greg didn't wish to do something else more interesting than housework, he appeared well rested and satisfied to stay at home. And when the day was over, just when he was headed to bed, Greg turned to face me and exclaimed "I'm a daddy! I can't believe it!" And walked away smiling...
