Today was technically Greg's 40th b-day, so we spent it kayaking around the marina in Richmond...


Kai just thought it was so funny to see my reaction when he decided to taste the marina's water. Yuck!


I'm making sure Greg is carrying his weight, paddling, via my convex mirror.

Afterwards we hung out at the park and flew Kai's very first Mickey Mouse kite that his buddy Lukas had given him for Easter.

Kai is trying out his new child carrier/backpack that we picked up from REI on the way here. The neat thing about this gadget- it's portable that you could cinch it down to make it look like a typical backpack. It also has a zip-off diaper bag, that also converts into a smaller backpack. Technology today is so great!

Lazy day at the lake

After killing myself working out on the Total Gym and Elliptical in our backyard, I tore up the front garden cleaning it up of debri. I certaintly deserved to have a little R & R with our friends, the Brown's at their lake in Walnut Creek.

The kids enjoyed the sand and water, and were enthusiastic about the ride in the kayak. We only paddled along the shallow end as they did not have their life jackets on. (We are somewhat responsible parents!)
