Baby's got new dogs! (and a fever...)
Tuesday June 19, 2007
Kai was not a happy camper this past few days. He appears to be walking aimlessly around the house, whining when I come into view, and the spark in his eyes now dull. He also picked up this habit of having his tongue hang-out frequently (I'm sure he learned that from Lukas! :)
Both of us had not been getting sleep, he awoke several times last night, which he demanded to be nursed, and by the time Greg was ready to go off to work, I could barely get my body to move and my eyes were like bricks. And by golly, my nipples hurt! (Yes, I am still nursing!) My poor baby has been on and off with 102-degree fever on average.
When I finally got the cup of coffee in my hand, (that my great hubby brings to me bedside every morning) I awoke to my own snoring (startled myself!) and the cup was about ready to spill on my belly. I was pretty darn tired!
We had gone to see the Kaiser doctor who said something viral has been going around and if Kai's fevers continue to Friday, we should come back. At this time, he only suggested tylenol to make him comfortable, but no other medication/treatment was necessary.
Anyway, it was Spring cleaning again as I had been doing the past week- and I pulled these "dogs" out! How about that? It fits- and Kai wasn't quite sure what to make of it except to squeal in delight when I had him walk around in them. He wore them the whole day.
Kai with his tongue hanging out (like Lukas, or like Toby (Lukas' dog)?
What other stuff is new with Kai?
1. He's cutting teeth, a canine.
2. He knows how to shake his head in defiance.
3. He has learned how to frown this past week (looks just like daddy when he was a kid)
4. Says "birds" "Blue" (our parrot) and "Stop" more clearly.
5. Points at trees when asked.
6. Retrieves his shoes when asked (rushed in the house to get them!)
7. Will deliver a wet kiss and hug when asked.
8. Has learned to jump, with feet leaving floor (doesn't always land on feet though!)
9. Has experienced "time-out" twice (by mommy and daddy) and for the first time on the steps to our livingroom for climbing our glass dining table. (Not successful- I spent more time putting him back in the corner than his staying there a minute!)
10. Throws out his own diapers in the bin in the garage. (Well they are pretty dreadful!)
11. And is learning to warm up his hands by reaching up the backside of my shorts and making me jump!
