Lost My Identity- Kai's Ma'ma: San Diego here we are!

This is how Kai gets my attention now- he took up the art of picking his nose.

Around 4:30 am, I awoke to violent shaking- and immediately rolled over to clutch Greg, who was just as startled as I was. It felt like a semi drove through the backyard towards our house. Greg quickly left bed to check on Kai, I followed. Kai was in deep slumber and was snoring. I could hear our birds flapping their wings and I rushed out to the livingroom to turn on the lights. Poor things had fallen off their perch and were trying to make their way back up.

I hate the feeling with the truck- to best describe it would be like standing on a steel bridge and feeling the movement and vibration as a big truck drives over it. It's more scary when you are awakened by it.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2 and originated 2 miles ENE of Oakland.

Here's the scoop. I had an all-expense paid trip by my clients to shoot their wedding in San Diego this Saturday. I purchased tickets for Alejandra to come along to assist me with this stressful and fast-paced event. When I told Greg how long I would be gone (Friday to Sunday), he told me that I wasn't leaving without him and Kai. You see, Kai would be devasted in the mornings (without his boobies) and Greg would be miserable because of Kai's non-stop crying.

So...here we are- the whole gang and off to San Diego.

Amazingly, everything went smoothly. We had no problems in our commute- we were even given a mini-van to get us around. And our stay at the Marriott Del Mar was a pleasant. I was shocked to find that our room was $200/night- but hey I wasn't paying for that.

The next morning, Kai decides to wake daddy by sitting on his face. Unfortunately I missed that shot. And to allow Ale and Greg get some shut-eye...I take him to the pool.
