Souvenirs Embedded in Chicago Tribune Building and Huge Chocolate Santa Propped in front of it.

This is the Chicago Tribune building in the daytime...

(The festive lighting at the Tribune's entrance).

...and here it is at night (via panoramic video )

I was particularly interested in the Tribune building after having seen the tv show CSI New York, where the FBI agent followed his leads from pieces of buildings and rocks evidenced to be from different ends of the earth, that were mailed to him. His journey brought him to Chicago to see the Chicago Tribune building.
~
I was flabbergasted that I had not known this before, I have spent several months walking past that building to work for a lawyer in the Water Tower Place (where Oprah lived). And I had never once looked up to check out this building in detail! So I spent quite a long time taking pictures the best I could despite the disappearing natural light.

So outside in the walls are several pieces, parts of old buildings, sculpture, masonry, etc. I am only showing a handful of images of what was embedded in the walls, and from places which Greg and I have been to on our travels.

I have seen so many churches in Europe to last me a lifetime, that when I exited this particular church- I asked Greg where St. Peters Cathedral was, and he laughed and pointed out that I had just seen it! I ran back inside...oops!
Where Kai, at 4 months of age, went on his first "extreme" hike with daddy up the cliffs (he was wearing flip-flops)
They have great panini's across the street!
Where we went for our 10th wedding anniversary and with my mother and brother Derek! I took place in a photography competition which got us to Paris.

Make sure you go check out the backyard- the flying butresses are phenomenal!
I raced up the steps with my mother-in-law to get an aerial view from the Abbey's tower in England. (Truth is, I could barely keep up with my in-law!)
When I travelled as a physical therapist and lived in Texas for a few months- I just had to see this historic monument!
If you're from Illinois, you had better visit Springfield to see his tomb, home, and an unsually long and tall bed!
We toured Vienna, after finally realizing that our overnight train did not takes us to Venice like we had planned. Oh well! Got to make the most of it- well worth the mistake anyway.
(Future expedition I have my mind on!)
I saw all of New York twice in my life from the World Trade Center. It's a restless thought that I would never get that chance again...
Neil Armstrong, his famous words of wisdom and THE ROCK! Little did I know that I would run into Neil again (another story to tell next week)
We watched Channel 5 NBC news while I jumped in the background trying to get this photo. We appeared in the news that night. Of course, Derek was busy trying to make a scene.
The Xmas spirit is evident here.
I was soooo stoked that I got a great deal on Fanny May chocolate Santas! Sure I bought two for the price of one, but had no idea that they were fragile and would be packed in a box or how I could get them safely home via airplane... but I didn't care- I had CHOCOLATE!
Jen's idea to pose Santa in front of the Tribune building!

We walk back to the car on The Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave.)

Where the movie musical Chicago was filmed.
Kai's ninong (aka godfather) Derek and his cousin Cohen.
When we got back the boys were still up and playing. And became curious as to what I had in the big boxes. Of course I had to open it and share this treat with everyone.

Making faces and checking out the chocolate midget.
The murder weapon is still embedded! Who could have done such a thing? Couldn't be that angelic Cohen standing there with the mischievious face- right?
Yum, Santa cranium for dessert! YUM YUM YUM!!!
I made the mistake of giving Kai and Cohen each a little too much- the hyperactivity set in in no time!
