Our 14th Wedding Anniversary! With Love, Chaos, & Dinner
May 7, 2008 Wednesday
14 years of marriage! Wow! Years have flown by soooo fast. I was excited when Greg told me he bought dinner/show tickets to see Teatro Zinzanni on Pier 22 in San Francisco. We left Kai at our neighbors with his pajamas, a packed dinner, and a sleeping bag. I felt a bit guilty when Kai went upstairs to check out the toys with their 7-year old grandson when I rushed out the door- I could hear him calling for me.
Kai hangs out with his bud Anthony.
Well that guilt went away as my stomach was calling for food!
~
Excellent show (Circus Soleil-style) and an excellent meal. I particularly laughed my head off when a guest participated in a skit and ended up with a whole raw chicken on his shoulder and a tub of butter on his head- for real!
~
There was the hula-hoop guy from America, the jugglers from France, another from Ukraine, and the Russian who is "the master of balance, combining dance, contortion and gymnastics into an instant of pure poetry." Quite elegant to look at, but I could feel his pain and I wanted to give him my business card.

Check out my theatrical make-up.
Afterwards, I bought myself a boa and had a beautiful evening walk to the Bart station. We picked up Kai by midnight, which he had fallen asleep the hour before having searched the house for us with a flashlight, and then passing out on the hearth.
Kai with neighbor Mike.
He awoke crying when we took him home. And Kai just did not want me to put him down until he slept again. I think he was probably feeling abandoned by his mother since I had just returned from Salt Lake over the weekend...and I had left him again. My sweet baby!
