Greg's 41st Bday at the Pub with Kai

Some neat looking beer taps with beer samplers to follow-all for Greg!

Today was a working day for both Greg and I. But we met up in Berkeley at the Pyramid Ale House for his bday dinner. Kai presented daddy with a bag of goodies (a cycling shirt, chocolates, nuts, alcohol) and then sat at the bar with daddy and made a toast with his root"BEER" float.

Then mommy taught Kai how to shoot spitballs at the bartender (who was Canadian, so he didn't mind) and gave us a free appetizer off our bill. The water main broke on Gilman Ave. and by law the health department would not allow them to serve food without running water. So fortunately our appetizers were dinner-sized meals anyway! And we left with happy stomaches.

So we headed up the street to REI and spent the gift certificate my mother had sent to Greg via e-mail and bought provisions to ready him for his Grand Canyon river raft trip next month.

At home, we celebrated with a Coldstone Cremery chocolate ice cream Ganache cake and some (oops) wine- how old are you? 42? oops 41?
~
But despite poor wind conditions for kite-surfing today and a dinner cut short, Greg was pleased that several friends and family had contacted him today to wish him a happy birthday *even with a crazy birthday serenade by my family!
