4th of July in Alameda

Kai present the host with a bottle of Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon.
.
Today was a really hot day. I passed out in the sky chair in the backyard for about 3 hours and awoke to Kai crying and pounding on the sliding door. Greg did a great job of taking care of him while I was asleep and realized just how difficult it was to maintain the house with Kai quickly displacing things.

We drove out to Berkeley Marina where it was in the high 60s and walked around for some fresh air and exercise then headed off to meet Glenn and Amy at Taylor Engineering in Alameda. Greg had been part owner of Engineered Air Systems with Glenn 10 years ago before they sold the company to American Mechanical Services. Now Glenn is part owner of this quickly growing company and is in his dream workplace having panoramic waterfront views.

After having a BBQ catered dinner, homemade desserts, and wines for your choosing (up to $100 value! Someone brought that in), there was a ping-pong table to work off those calories.

Kai running around as if he owned the place.

Playing ping-pong with the big boys.

The pictures below were taken from the 5th floor balcony.
Oakland City.
Oakland hills with Mormon Temple lit in the hills.
Alameda port/docking area.
San Francisco at sunset.
Unfortunately, Jack London Square had cancelled the fireworks events due to some construction interference, as they say. However we were able to view fireworks from Alameda and Berkeley but not as grandeur due to the distance.
