Kai refuses to stay overnight in San Francisco
Kai pulls his Elmo rolling luggage at the hotel.
29 February (Leap Year 2008)
Gramma and Grampa were to spend the week at the Suites At Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The timeshare was within walking distance from Pier 39 and Ghiradelli's Chocolates.
Grampa is caught unpacking his delicates while "coming out of the closet" (after all-we are in San Francisco!) . haha.
While Kai, realizing that we were spending the night here, insisted on returning home. He refused to take off his jacket, shoes, or to even let go of his Elmo bag. He headed back to the elevators and kept repeating "home", "home" and even asked for the car keys. After much coercing as I hugged him to my chest while sitting on the floor by the stairway landing, he was finally convinced, with the help of a couple strangers, that we were staying the night before he willingly headed back to the room.

The plan was that Greg and I would get Kai to sleep first before we headed out for some R&R. And we both laid in the sofa bed with him only to awake at 2am! Now too dead beat to do anything, we just changed clothes and went back to bed.

Kai stayed up later than both of us! All I could do was roll over and chuckle at our sleeping angel. Yes, our plan was foiled!
