Ready to party! (at Lukas')

Kai poses with Gramma. What a handsome little guy, huh? I love their color coordination here.

He is such a little comedian when it comes to taking pictures.
So we leave San Fran and follow signs to Lukas' house (as seen above).
Lukas is thrilled to have Kai there and frequently that day, hugs Kai.
Kai flashes his "pearlie whites" on command.
The boys dance with this mechanical Valentine doggie, which they are easily humored by it.
Lukas has his birthday hand print made with the assistance of his mommy Ute.
Kai has his blue hand print made too.
One can never be too old to have a teddy bear! In this case, Rolf gets a teddy for his birthday (no not a negligee- but a teddy teddy).
Kai and Lukas enjoy their pizza sitting together.
Video: Pizza together.
Ute and Rolf did a fine job of making a homemade Thomas train cake for both Lukas and Kai!
Kai is the professional gift "un-wrapper". He didn't understand that at this party the presents belonged to Lukas. He became more frustrated...
Well, can you see why? Here is Auntie Ute who refuses to share the toys! Toy-hog!
Kai especially made that fortune cookie for Lukas on our visit to the Oakland fortune cookie factory. I was planning to play a gag on Ute also but the darn thing broke in transit! (Read the fortunes above).
Greg and I decided it was time to leave, it was apparent that the party was over and the Bienert's had drastically lowered the thermostat to hint us. Here we are with BLUE lips- we are sooooo c-c-c-cold!
Lukas gives Kai one last hug before we head out the door and back to San Fran for another night's stay with the grandparents.

Bodega Bay Birthday
Bodega Bay
June 30, 2007 Saturday
Just an 1.5 hour drive north from our house we camped overnight at Bodega Bay. With the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, you could literally walk to both sides in a few hundred feet. However on our arrival, Bodega Bay was overcast with intermittent patches of sunlight breaking through grey fog. As the day went on, the winds picked up and the temperature dropped.
The twins join us- Dylan and Sierra with their porter-mom.
That's Dylan and Kai in high grass for cover from the winds.
A small group of our friends braved camping with us and with their children. It wasn't "true" camping as we were huddled in our van camper pop-top and tent campers. The real campers Ale and Martin (Kai's godparents and DINKS- double income no kids) braved the very cold and windy night in a tent. And were they smart! I noticed they relocated their tents further away from our vehicles (so as not to hear the crying babies). Soon they were tucked away in the trees...
Alejandra and Martin staked-out under the trees and far from the rest of us with children.
Lukas and Kai fighting over the dog's water bowl, as Toby watches them seemingly with ridicule.
Ute, Me, and Christy. Kai is asleep in my arms after getting a margharita via my booby. Ute is asking for a drink too.
Lukas shows dad the right way to grill- like how a "real" man should.
The Bienert family...chomp-chomp-chomp...burp! (German beer)
Since Lukas likes to bully others. They ganged up and showed him the works. Dylan pushed him over Sierra who tripped him, and Kai kicked him in the gut. Lukas laid there stunned. What goes around comes back twice as hard! heehee.
Greg cuts his 40th birthday cake that Ute made from scratch! Yummy! Unfortunately it was too windy to light the candles but Greg gets another birthday celebration filled with good food, good friends, and neat gifts. And of course, he got to kitesurf also.
Greg receives a German stein and German beer from a German friend- GEEZ, how much more German can this get?
Chicken Ute , too cold to brave the outdoors, so she turns in for the night (at 9ish on a Saturday night!) Well, you know old people do need a lot of rest and sleep...
And while Kai and I sat out there in the cold, Ale and Martin cuddled up in their car doing God-knows-what!? EWWW are they kissing? Don't they know they could get babies that way?

Blackmailed on our Birthdays!
My sister Cheri has decided to blackmail me with a photo of my wearing a blonde wig and terrible make-up. This photo was taken at a halloween party when I dressed up as Godiva- but get this, 6-months pregnant with Kai! I bore a sign that read, "This is what happens when you run around naked!" (with an arrow pointing at my prenant belly).
So now the endless blackmails...

Since I am 39-years old now, I figured I'd try my God-given talent and take a shot at singing.

To my dismay, I didn't realize Simon would be there to complain.

But my sister was there to save me from the hounds...

...and I received a standing ovation!
To hear my Whitney Houston song...click here. Happy Bday Arleen!

Greg and Godiva eat a turkey dinner on Greg's birthday... (turkey will get you pregnant...oh wait, or does it make you sleepy? then pregnant???)

Greg loves corn! Those Canadian-Brits just love to eat and make food fly!

I apparantly am wishing for a baby...Greg is wishing for new kitesurfing gear...

Geez...Greg is just too competitive! But little does he know I stole his wish!

To see us in action: Click here Happy Birthday Greg!
Thanks to all my brothers and sister for sending me cards, and making phone calls to wish me a happy birthday.
- Eric, you called me when it was way too late- you are 2-hours ahead and should be in bed!
- Derek, you are a hoot! You get your co-worker fireman buddies to sing me a song? By the way, fly out here, we had trouble in Tahoe.
- Fredi, let's see what you have up your sleeve when I see you next week!
- Cheri, your bath salts arrived in time to help this old body. haha.
As for in-laws and parents.
- Andrew and Antoinette- we got your "recording" card- but it just played back truck sounds. I think the post office may have piled to many parcels on top of it. So what was your message? But thanks anyway!
- Mum, thanks for the phone message. Yup, I will not call you back- you're 3 hours ahead.
- Mom, I know you think I'm nuts for doing Mt. D with Kai- but I refuse to admit I am getting way out there in years. tee hee.

Brennan's 3rd Bday and later off to Pinole Beach
Kai and birthday boy Brennan play with the mega toy train table set up in the living room.
10 June 2007 Sunday
Brennan's 3rd Birthday in Crockett, CA.
While Brennan opens his gift from Kai, Kai is out on the patio test-driving Brennan's Volkswagon. Brennan talks real well and tells me (and shows me on his fingers) exactly how old he is! Smart boy!
"Pansy" Joel, who was very proud of his 6-foot lily. I call him a pansy, he calls me the "Cyber Troll". We have a well-balanced friendship, as you can see. He knew he was gonna be on the blog so he posed. Psst...he is really a model in disguise from the paparrazi's. I've got proof... hmmm?
G-Q Joel on his wedding day, which I took 3-years ago. Ok Marla, please do not salivate on my child's blog!

Outdoor fun at the Pinole Shores, Pinole, CA.
We didn't stay very long at the birthday due to other commitments. We were to meet up with the Bienert's for some beach fun. Of course, we had to cross the railroad tracks first.
Kai looks one way, Greg the other for any trains. That's daddy Rolf in the background.
It's just a funny shot, of daddy's running across the railroad tracks.
This beach is just soooo peaceful! haha (ironic laughter)
Lukas throwing sand at daddy Rolf.
Kai and Lukas are into some mischief we are not sure what it's about yet.
Kai tackles Lukas this time.
Going home: Kai refuses to get in the stroller and chases after daddy instead.
Video: Kai and Lukas joking around.
The day just wasn't over yet. Kai and daddy Greg washed the cars while mommy stood around and ate a chocolate dipped banana from Trader Joe's.
Video: Kai washes the Volvo.
