Time Capsule Opening, Paper Airplane competition, and USAir Force's 60th birthday.

On the way out Travis Air Force base, I caught sight of this at the library and pulled over.

Today was the annual great paper airplane competition. Kai did not participate other than try to grab this very large paper plane in the bush.
The airplanes are not just judged for how far they can fly but also for creativity.
Kai waits for the time capsule to be opened after 25 years of being in storage.

Sealed in 1982 and to be opened today in 2007 AD.
The librarian/curator opens the box to reveal the inscription on the underside of the lid.
Lo and behold ! What do I see? ...
...paperwork...and other stuff.
A signed document found inside the capsule.
As are other memorabilia...
But most importantly, bottles of 1979 cabernet sauvignon wine was revealed! I'm surprised it wasn't in a plastic bag or something just in case it broke while in storage.

Afterwards we had cake as today was also the 60th anniversary for the USAF.
Kai gets to eat his cake and icing too!
Kai struggles to remove this t-shirt before he takes off! A gift given to me by Dad from Travis AFB. This t-shirt could deliver more than one message to Greg, especially when I wear this to bed, as dad jokes. haha. This signage is actually on tags that hang off the airplane nose.
