Active Rehab is Officially MINE!

Jan 2, 2008
For the past 3 years, while I was preganant with Kai, the owner of Lakeridge kept throwing remarks my way that I should buy the physical therapy business. But nothing more came of it. So I never took it seriously UNTIL I was informed one week that in a few days they would close the clinic unless I was interested.

I was going to lose my contracting job suddenly, so for the sake of Kai I jumped on the opportunity. My choices were to do it and have free daycare and a sweet commute (1.75 miles away from home) or work with much longer commute and pay for daycare and not see Kai for several hours (perhaps 8 hours)?

Lakeridge Athletic Club off the San Pablo Dam Road, which houses Active Rehab Physical Therapy.
Hey, I just noticed those little stick figures on the sign!

This place is like a little gem, where I work. Pine trees surround it, there's an outdoor swimming pool; a resort-style facility...and best of all it has a childcare center too. This is where Kai socializes with children of all ages. I believe that because of this place, he has definitely become a little "social-lite". Very outgoing he is. People at the club love him as he goes out of his way to greet them.
With the help of my hubby Greg and a lawyer, on Jan 2, I signed my life away. It was worked into the contract that I would get free daycare, gym membership, and utilities- with the exception of internet and phone.
Later that night, I was so exhausted (that's me in pjs). Having just returned from vacation and then having to go and sign papers practically the next day, was a huge leap! I was elated and stressed at the same time.
Greg brought home a bottle of champagne to celebrate and we made our first family toast to our huge success! Salute!
