Gramma Gives Us a Helping Hand!
All families should have gramma's like this one! While Kai and I were eating chocolate fondue, Greg went to pick up gramma from the airport who flew in from Ottawa, Canada.
I was to attend a business seminar in Newport Beach and had mixed feeling about leaving the family. Well, I knew I had to go to learn how to run a business, and on the other hand I was saddened by the fact, I would be gone from Kai for a day, about 24-hours. (Greg said it was actually 48-hours if I did the calculation hour to hour- thanks Greg, that didn't make me feel any better!)

So while I suffered, literally, with frustration in class, PMS, and a headache througout my weekend down south. I was glad to hear that Kai did not cry or miss me at all. The concern Greg and I had was Kai would be unconsolable as he was still being nursed.
But thanks to gramma, she was a great distraction. In fact, I returned to a little boy with a bigger vocabulary. I don't know how she does it- but she has this capacity to tolerate Kai and his constant need for attention, and read books to him which he frequently demands.
Thanks Gramma for all your help! By the way, although this blog was obviously posted very late- Kai is often asking where Gramma is, who will be arriving with grampa this Thursday for another California visit. Get your running shoes on! He is twice as fast since you've last seen him.

Note: I stopped nursing him that weekend I was absent. And although he is weaned from it all, he occasionally asks for "boobies" still, and we joke around about it. He'll ask for milk or juice instead.
